LHA receives recognition from Corps of Engineers for 20 years of volunteer service

CORPS OF ENGINEERS SALUTES LAKE HARTWELL ASSOCIATION FOR 20 YEARS OF VOLUNTEER SERVICE.

At its recent annual meeting the Lake Hartwell Association was presented a plaque by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division, Savanah District, Hartwell Dam and Lake Project.  The plaque was engraved:  "In recognition and appreciation of 20 years dedicated to the protection, preservation and promotion of Hartwell Lake.  The Association's commitment and selfless service is commended for ensuring this high quality resource is sustained and maintained for future generations of Upstate South Carolina and North Georgia.  'FOR THE SAKE OF THE LAKE' "

The plaque was presented to Lake Hartwell Association president, Herb Burnham, by Brig. Gen. Todd Semonite, Commander of the Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division.
